For Linda Conner, Care Guide Partners PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) has completely transformed her daily life, offering her a renewed sense of purpose and a supportive community where she thrives. Since joining the program in July of 2024, Linda has been visiting the Elizabethtown PACE Center daily. She shared, “It helps me to have things to do through the day where I don’t have to sit at home and do nothing. I feel like I’m at work.”

Before enrolling in PACE, Linda spent her days alone at home while her son and daughter-in-law, with whom she lives, worked. “It was kind of devouring and depressing,” she reflected. “Sometimes I’d color in my coloring books, but I like it better here because the day goes faster. Now, by the time I get home from PACE, they’re home from work, and it feels like a full, normal day.”

Now, Linda’s days are filled with purposeful activities that bring her joy and accomplishment. “We do something every day. I’ve made so much stuff — cuckoo clocks, wreaths for all the seasons, paper pumpkins, and block statues. I’ve given some of it to my daughters and granddaughter,” she said. “I keep saying, ‘I’m going to have to get a bookshelf at home to put all this stuff!’”

Linda also cherishes the friendships she’s formed at PACE, where every day begins with a warm “Good morning!” “It feels like family,” she says, adding, “We sit together, chat, and laugh a lot.”

The program has made life easier for Linda, especially when it comes to transportation. “Before, my daughter-in-law had to take off work to bring me. Now, the PACE bus comes every day to pick me up and take me home,” she explained.

For Linda, PACE isn’t just a program — it’s a lifeline. She is enjoying the sense of community and connection that PACE has provided. “They take care of everything, and I don’t have to worry. It’s given me purpose, friendships, and the confidence to enjoy life again.”
