At Care Guide Partners PACE, we are deeply committed to honoring and serving our nation’s veterans. With the recent passage of the Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act (Dole Act), veterans now have expanded access to Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).
This landmark legislation, signed into law by President Biden on January 2, 2025, requires Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Centers (VAMCs) located within a PACE service area to partner with these programs. As a result, eligible veterans can now be referred to PACE for comprehensive, coordinated care and support.
What the Dole Act Means for Veterans
The Dole Act is a game-changer for veteran healthcare. Veterans referred to PACE under the Dole Act can benefit from:
- Coordinated, team-based care that includes doctors, nurses, therapists, and social workers collaborating to create personalized care plans.
- Access to a full range of services, including medical care, prescription management, physical therapy, meal assistance, and more, all within one organization.
- Support to remain at home, enabling veterans to maintain their independence rather than transitioning to long-term care facilities.
These benefits ensure veterans receive the compassionate care and attention they deserve while staying connected to their communities and loved ones.
